Jackson, Miss -The Mississippi Freeway Patrol (MHP) concluded the 2022 Memorial Day Holiday break Journey Enforcement Period Monday at midnight. The enforcement period of time started on Friday, May possibly 27, at 12:01 am.

 

The Mississippi Freeway Patrol issued a total of 15,263 citations, built 375 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 1,615 motorists for seatbelt violations. MHP also investigated 125 crashes ensuing in 49 injuries with 4 deadly crashes and 4 deaths. The lethal crashes occurred in Stone, Washington, Claiborne, and Yazoo Counties.

On Sunday, May 29, 2022, at close to 1:42 pm, the Mississippi Freeway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on Highway 454 in Washington County.

 

A 2018 Harley Davidson FLHXS driven by 46-12 months-old Benjamin Crossett of North Very little Pulaski, AR, was traveling west on Highway 454 when the motorbike still left the roadway and overturned. Benjamin Crossett received deadly injuries from the crash.

 

This crash continues to be underneath investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

 

 

On Sunday, May possibly 29, 2022, at about 4:04 pm, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on Freeway 18 in Claiborne County.

 

A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer pushed by 44-year-outdated Eddrick D. Great of Port Gibson, MS, traveled west on Highway 18 when the auto left the highway and collided with a tree. Eddrick Excellent received deadly injuries from the crash and was pronounced lifeless on the scene. Mr. Great was not sporting his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

 

This crash continues to be under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

 

 

On Monday, May well 30, 2022, at close to 11:45 pm, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on Freeway 16 in Yazoo County.

 

A 2012 Ford F-150 driven by 19-calendar year-aged Haley A. McCrory of Vicksburg, MS, traveled west on Freeway 16. A 2012 Honda Accord driven by 57-calendar year-outdated Tracy A. Anderson traveled east on Freeway 16. Both of those autos collided head-on. Tracy Anderson obtained deadly accidents from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Haley McCrory gained unidentified injuries and was transported to Merit Health in Canton.

 

Mr. Anderson was carrying his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Ms. McCrory was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

 

This crash stays under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
